In an interview with Interview magazine last month, Jay reflected on his rise from the streets all the way to the White House, saying it “was crazy” that he could even meet with these powerful people. “For me, being with [President] Obama or having dinner with Bill Clinton … It’s crazy. It’s mind-blowing, because where I come from is just another world. We were just ignored by politicians — by America in general.”

Grammy Award-winning R&B singer D’Angelo was arrested early yesterday after allegedly offering an undercover policewoman $40 for oral sex while cruising alone through the West Village — with $12,000 stashed in his SUV.According to the NY Post, D’Angelo, 36, whose real name is Michael Archer, was in his top-of-the-line Range Rover at Greenwich and Horatio streets at about 2:30 a.m. when he spotted a woman he took to be a prostitute, sources said. He was arrested and charged with solicitation after asking the woman for sex, the sources said. His manager declined to comment..

March 05, 2010. MediaTakeOut.com told you yesterday that NBA superstar Allen Iverson and his wife (who was together with him for almost 20 years) have decided to divorce. Now we're getting insight into why. According to a MediaTakeOut.com insider, Allen's marriage was destroyed - at least in part - by a group of women who were hell bent on making Tawana's life hell. The insider, who spoke to MediaTakeOut.com on the condition of anonymity, told us that a group of women have been contacting Tawana in recent weeks claiming to have been in "relationships" with her NBA baller husband. & The insider tells, "[The women] did everything in their power to try and destroy the Iverson's marriage . . . it is really shameful." And it gets better. Our insider doesn't believe that any of the women ACTUALLY had a relationship with Allen. The insider continued, "[Allen] wasn't an angel, but I don't believe what these women are saying." This really is a shame. We really do hope that Allen and Tawana can get back together . . .

Mo’Nique has won the Best Supporting Actress for the film “Precious”. Mo’Nique was the 16th African American actress to receive an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress. The comedienne and actress shot to fame in the UPN series “The Parkers” while also making a name for herself as a comic on the stand-up circuit. Mo’Nique has also won a Screen Actors Guild Award, a Golden Globe Award and the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) Award for “Precious.”
